It’s public service, not a career
I’m the only candidate in this race committed to restoring ethics to politics
Hey there! Rishi Kumar here, wishing you Happy Holidays and many joyful moments with your family and loved ones.
I’m running for Congress in 2024, and I’d love your support. I’m the only candidate in this race who has already earned the trust and support of 42% of this district’s voters in the November 2022 election. No wonder, we have polled on top of a recent polling ahead of the March 5, 2024 election. My campaign is built on three core principles:
I will return ethics to politics; I reject all Special Interest Group and PAC money! Clean money is what America needs today and politicians unbought!
I will champion YOUR interests, not special interests – I fight for people! Such as pushing back on the gouging by San Jose Water Company and PG&E. Such as reducing burglaries in my city.
I will bring innovative ideas to Washington, drawn from my experience as a C-suite software executive and get things done!
My record on crime: As a member of the Saratoga city council, I grappled with rising crime and reduced home burglaries by over 50%. No other city in Santa Clara County came close to these numbers. In part because of these efforts, I was reelected with the highest vote count in the city’s 66-year history. As your Congressional Representative, I will reduce the crime in your city!
CONTRIBUTE BUTTON
My campaign has not accepted—and will never accept—a single dime from PACs or special-interest groups. Elected officials should serve only one boss: their constituents. This is non-negotiable.
Career politicians—in California and the country as a whole—have forgotten the meaning of public service. It’s up to us to remind them.
Over the past decade, we've witnessed the Golden State lose much of its luster. Crime and homelessness are up, innovation is down, taxes have gone up, and now California is staring down a fiscal collapse—from a $100 billion projected surplus to a $30-plus billion deficit.
Our problems stem from a failure of leadership—not just in Washington and Sacramento, but also closer to home. Take San José, for example. In 2022, the city spent $116 million on homelessness, yet the numbers of unhoused in that city spiked. Tragically, over 250 unhoused persons died on the streets of San José in 2022 alone! Violent crime, especially against women, is also up in the city. And yet the underutilized light rail system still gets max funding.
Why won’t our elected leaders do what’s needed to reduce crime? Why the spike in homelessness? It’s simple: career politicians are deep in the pockets of big donors. Mark Twain quipped in 1873 that we have “the best government money can buy.” He’d likely be speechless today.
As we approach the primary election, I urge you to put the career politicians in this race to the test. Who funds them? How have they voted in the past? Have they ever been the subject of an ethics investigation? Dissect their record. It’s easy to smile and say all the right things, but many don’t have the track record to back up their pretty talk.
My campaign has resonated all over our district. In the November 2022 Congressional election, I won 42.2% of the vote against an incumbent with deep (corporate) pockets and strong ties to party elites. I did this the old-fashioned way: by knocking on thousands of doors and listening to the people who opened them. And by developing a clear plan to address their most pressing challenges.
Early next year, there will be a deluge of mailers, messages, commercials, and texts from career politicians in this race and their wealthy patrons. They have money to burn, and if they know anything, it’s how to sell snake oil. But you don’t have to buy what they’re selling. Don’t be swayed by their glitzy ads; examine each candidate’s record on basic issues like crime, housing, and homelessness.
Together we can bring a spirit of public service back to Washington and return our great democracy to the people.
Career politicians have bought their way into power and are wrecking the future of California and the country we love. It’s time to say, “No More!”
I invite you to join our movement for ethics in politics. I’d be honored to have your support.
Warm regards,
Rishi Kumar
